The 2022 Nissan Rogue is the latest version of the stylish compact crossover SUV. This year, Nissan has made this critical model more powerful and more fuel-efficient than ever, so it’s now an even better choice for getting around Gainesville Buford, Cumming, Duluth, and further afield. Couple the improved economy with an impressive list of standard safety features that earn the Nissan coveted Top Safety Pick+ status from the IIHA, and it’s easy to see why the Rogue is such a consistently big-seller for the brand.
There are four different trim levels to choose from in the 2022 Nissan Rogue lineup. The entry-level model is the Rogue S, and after that, the lineup then goes to the SV, SL, and finally to the top-of-the-line Platinum trim. The exterior styling of the 2022 Rogue is sharp, modern, and very contemporary with a decent dose of sporty, but it’s a little more conventional than some Japanese rivals, which prevents it from being anything too polarizing.
There’s a good spread of prices and specifications between the four different trim levels, which is why the Rogue continues to appeal to such a broad audience. All four versions of the 2022 Rogue are front-wheel-drive in their standard form, but all four models offer the extra capability of all-wheel-drive if you are happy to pay for that upgrade.
A year into this all-new version of the Rogue compact crossover, Nissan has replaced the previous powerplant with a new, thoroughly contemporary 1.5-liter turbo-three engine that now develops 201 horsepower and 225 lb.-ft. of torque. Compared to the previous unit, that’s an increase of 20 horsepower and 44 lb.-ft of torque, but that’s not the only advantage this new powerplant delivers.
The new turbo-three engine gets the Rogue closer to the fuel economy ratings of hybrid rivals, and front-drive versions of the 2022 Rogue can now get you an EPA-estimated 30 mpg in the city, 37 mpg on the highway and 33 mpg combined. Add the extra capability of all-wheel drive, and those numbers change only slightly to 28 mpg in the city, 35 mpg on the highway, and 31 mpg combined.
Even the base model comes with Nissan Safety Shield 360, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, 17-inch alloy wheels, NissanConnect, an 8.0-inch color touchscreen display, air conditioning, and remote keyless entry with push-button ignition. SV models add 18-inch alloy wheels, NissanConnect Services, ProPILOT Assist, Nissan Intelligent Key, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
The SL trim level starts to get positively salubrious with the likes of standard 19-inch alloys, Intelligent Around View Monitor, Dual Panel Panoramic Moonroof, tri-zone automatic climate control, and leather-appointed seats. Finally, the standard 2022 Nissan Rogue Platinum spec includes ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link, Quilted semi-aniline leather-appointed seats, a digital dashboard with fully digital gauges, Nissan Door to Door Navigation with Premium Traffic, and Wireless Apple CarPlay integration.
